Safety
Some of this needs a person, not a website.
This page is short on purpose. If you recognise yourself on it, stop reading and act on it.
Now
- If you are thinking about harming yourself, or feel unable to go on, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
- If the feeling is that there is no point, or that you are a burden to the people around you, the same applies. That is not a purpose problem and it is not something to work out on a website.
- Chest pain, breathing difficulty, collapse or a sudden unexplained physical change: emergency services.
Nothing on this site says your worth depends on being useful. If you have concluded that about yourself, please talk to somebody today.
A doctor, not a plan
- Low mood that has gone on for weeks.
- Not leaving the house, or not seeing anyone.
- Drinking more than you were, or drinking to get through the day.
- Sleep that has gone.
An empty diary can look like all of those and none of them is fixed by finding something to do. Get it looked at properly first.
Money, and people who want yours
If anyone is pressing you for money, a loan, an investment, or access to your contacts — under a charitable framing, a personal one, or an emotional one — treat it with caution and get independent professional advice before you commit to anything. A man with capacity and a wish to be useful is a target, and knowing that is a defence.
Tax, donations, trusteeship, foundations and charitable structures are for a qualified professional. Nothing on this site is advice on any of it.
If money itself has become the emergency — no money for food, imminent eviction, utilities cut off — that needs a free specialist debt or advice service now, not reflection here.
